Subspace to Participate in the ETHGlobal Autonomous Worlds Hackathon πŸ§‘β€πŸ’»

As strong advocates for decentralization and permissionless blockchain technology, we recognize the extraordinary potential autonomous worlds hold for our future. We believe autonomous worlds stand to enable numerous novel technological advancements. In line with this understanding, our team is preparing to participate in the upcoming ETHGlobal Autonomous Worlds Hackathon.

Dates: May 18-26
Location: Virtual

:technologist: Autonomous Worlds

Autonomous worlds can be described as digital environments or virtual realities that operate permissionlessly on-chain. There is no central authority controlling everything. Instead, the rules and operations are governed by code and the users themselves. In autonomous worlds, users have more control. Users have the freedom to own and control their own worlds without being limited by a single company’s rules or restrictions.

We recently launched the Subspace core-evm domain on our devnet for testing. Our core-evm domain supports smart contract development with solidity, enabling us to introduce MUD into the Substrate ecosystem. We plan to share more details about Subspace domains within the next several weeks.

As a first step in contributing to the future of autonomous worlds, we recently deployed MUD on the Subspace Network core-evm domain to begin testing. MUD is a framework for ambitious Ethereum applications that compresses the complexity of building EVM applications with a tightly integrated software stack.

We’ve even created a very simple example world using MUD v2 that demonstrates how to use the framework to create simple on-chain applications. Anyone can begin testing and building your own worlds right now! However, the network is currently ephemeral and subject to resets. In the coming weeks, we’ll deploy the core-evm domain to the Gemini III testnet, which will add a layer of durability.
